Newsletter - a personal development tool
Ever since the idea of a newsletter emerged in my brain long, long time ago I was sure that it can be used as a tool that will develop new skills for me. And boy, I was so right!
In full pandemic time I said a new design for my english site was needed. One that will represent me more, and will allow me to learn more about web design and coding. And second one that will allow me to have a newsletter platform integrated and a podcast one…the dream was there.
3 things I learn from this experience:
Give myself time - I was sure that all is going to be easy but i didn’t took into consideration the fact that I am an overachiever. And all the design and the info I put into it was never enough..until this vacation. When all come together somehow - that I was happy and pressed the send button to my first newsletter under supervision of one of the cats (I you can see in the picture).
Offer good information - is the key. So I made sure to offer things that people might find interesting from different sources, while also offering resources curated or tried by me. The response to the newsletter was great - so many messages from close friends, to ex-colleagues to people that knew me from social media. I loved it!
Learn to let go - information, pressure, save, overachievement. This was the hard part because the voice I had for the podcast from my Italian vacation sounded somehow not good enough once I reached the Romanian land. So I had to record all again - lucky for me I have saved the script so it was easier this time around. I made some PQ exercises and launch the podcast alongside the newsletter.
And even if I feel that it was a short vacation for me these two weeks meant time spend with the family from my partner’ side and with the family from my brother’s part - and bonus I have a great celebration about the new steps I took for my development. This vacation was great!
See you next Sunday when I will be older and maybe wiser :)
